Tumaini Peace Talks Advance as Government Delegation Responds to Holdout Groups’ Proposals
Nairobi, Kenya – The Tumaini Peace Talks have officially begun, with the government delegation, led by Hon. Eng. Kuol Manyang Juuk, engaging in meaningful discussions after last week’s presentations by the holdout groups, which focused on the root causes of the conflict in South Sudan.
Today's session, chaired by the heads of both delegations, Hon. Kuol Manyang Juuk and Hon. Pagan Amum Okiech, marks a crucial step forward in the dialogue process. This comes after detailed discussions last week regarding the relationship between the Tumaini initiative and the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS).
The Government of South Sudan remains dedicated to promoting dialogue and working towards a peaceful resolution of the unresolved issues. These talks are part of broader efforts to tackle the fundamental challenges hindering long-term peace and stability in the country.
Further updates on the progress of the talks will be shared as the discussions continue.
